Oppo, what are your favorite car-related movies?

I'm watching The Fast and the Furious and honestly it is one of my favorite movies.

Pretty much the only car movies made in my lifetime that I've actually liked are Senna, The Italian Job, and Rush. I also like the original Italian Job, and Smokey and the Bandit. I kind of like Bullit and Vanishing Point, but I certainly don't love them.

Being a pretty big film guy, I can't like just any car movie. I hate the Fast and Furious franchise, as well as the Gone in 60 Seconds remake, and pretty much everything since.

I think the first one is actually a decent movie, after that they got stupid. But stupid in a good, entertaining way.

I love the first fast & furious movie. The cars were fucking hideous, yet I love the movie.

Rush was great, I even liked Drive.

What these have in common: great in car scenes with lots of shifting lol.

Yeah, they were both great.

The new one will never be better than the original, but it was still a great movie.

Autobahnraser ! Don't know if it was ever available in English though. It's a pretty crappy movie as far as movie go (it's German after all) but it has some awesome cars in it as the main protagonists (including a sweet 2002, a Mach 1, and a Smart that goes way too fast, as well as a Polizei 911). And hot girls.

They must have used several cars, in some other scenes they are using a car with a licence plate from Dusseldorf.

EDIT : the KL is actually on the second part of the plate.

I'm not big fan of car movies. The entertainment industry seems to have a rule that a car movie has to have a crash scene or big load of them. And I don't like to see cars crashing as I would rather see them live. This is especially hard for me if the movie has nice old cars crashing.

Brand new cars don't matter much as new ones will be built if some of them are product placed and destroyed.

I can't even think up a decent car movie that doesn't have a crash scene.

Love the Beast. I story that hits the hears of car enthusiasts and a movie that shows outsiders why we like cars so much. Also my favorite version of Jeremy Clarkson ever. I love him when he's just honest and sensible. I know it might sound silly or wimpy, but I've teared up watching this movie.
